The Word of God: We believe that the entire Bible, both Old and New Testament, is the Word of God, void of any errors, written under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy. 3:16 &17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
The Trinity: We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis. 1:26 & 27; Isaiah. 48:16; Luke. 3:22; Matthew. 28:19; 2 Corinthians 3:14; 1 John 5:6-10)
The Creation and Fall of Man: We believe that God created man in His own image, man fell through sin, and therefore, all men are sinners by nature and choice. (Genesis. 1:1, 2:7, & 3:1-24; Romans. 5:12)
Salvation: We believe that salvation is God’s gift to those who acknowledge and turn away from their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Being declared right with God and being seen through his eyes as a “righteous” person (This is known as Justification) is a privilege given by him to every person at the moment of accepting Christ. After accepting Christ, a person engages in a life-long process of becoming more like him through the on-going work of the Holy Spirit who lives within them (This process is known as Sanctification). (John 11:25, Romans 3:21-26, Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 2:8 & 9)
Baptism: We believe that those declaring to be followers of Jesus Christ should be baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe this is in obedience to the command of Christ, which symbolizes their death to sin and resurrection to newness of life, as well as, publicly identifying themselves as one of his followers. (Matthew. 28:19, Acts 10:47, Galatians 3:27)
The Church: We believe that the local Christian church is a congregation of those who declare to be followers of Christ, connected by covenant to observe and practice the teachings of Christ. As part of this covenant, they participate together in certain sacred acts of worship such as baptism and communion. As an organized body, they govern themselves using Christ’s laws in cooperation with the laws of the land. They elect governing leaders as set forth by scripture, and strive together to fulfill Christ’s command to Love God and Love People. (Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 22:19 & 20, Acts 2:42, Ephesians 4:11 & 12)
Security of the Believer: We believe that all who declare themselves as followers of Jesus Christ, and whose lives are experiencing a true transformation of their heart, even though they will also experience times of doubt and hardship, are guaranteed eternity in heaven. (John. 10:28, 2 Timothy 1:12, 1 John. 2:19)
Eternity: We believe that those who are declared “righteous” in Christ will enter, by means of their spirit, into the presence of the Lord at death. Their bodies will be raised to life in a state of perfection at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who have chosen in this life not to be a follower of Jesus Christ, will be judged by him and suffer eternal punishment outside of heaven and the presence of God. (2 Corinthians 5:10, John. 14:2 & 3, Acts 1:11)
