Grant Men’s Ministries at the Grant Depot

 This month’s guest speaker is Mecosta County Sheriff Brian Miller.

       Brian was born in Jackson, Michigan and graduated from Jackson Lumen Christi Catholic High School in 1990. He received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ferris State University in 1994. Since 1990, Brian has made     Mecosta County and Big Rapids his home. In 1996 he began his career in law enforcement with the City of Big Rapids Department of Public Safety, serving in multiple positions including patrolman, drug team and school liaison officer. He is also the Police Chief for the Village of Barryton and was elected Mecosta County Sheriff in 2020.

       Brian has enjoyed refereeing and coaching in various youth athletic organizations and seeing the impact it makes with today’s youth. served on the Big Rapids Public Schools Board of Education for three years. He has been married to Heather for 17 years.  They have two sons, Cameron, who is 16 and a sophomore at Big Rapids High School, and Cooper, who is a 5th grader at St. Mary's Catholic School.  Brian’s faith, family, and serving the people of Mecosta County are what is important to him.
